Join the Brooklyn Landsharks on Sunday, February 6th for their Third Annual Super Bowl Party! In an effort to make the most of our 2011 fundraising, we’re staying local. We’ve eschewed a far-flung triathlon for a local road race and will be running a 200(ish)-mile Ragnar relay race from Woodstock, NY back into New York City.

We are again raising money for a great cause. All the proceeds of the Super Bowl party will go to fund the important cancer research of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. To date, the Landsharks have raised almost $75,000. We’ll need all your help to push it to a cool $100K this season.

— What can I expect? —

+ A giant screen!
+ All you can eat food and drink, including wings, guacamole, three different 6-foot long sandwiches, kegs of beer and a many other surprises
+ Fabulous prizes and t-shirts

— Who can come? —

Anyone you want. It’s a family affair; children under 10 get in free! Those of you who work for employers that match donations are especially encouraged to come out! Please forward this invitation far and wide.

— What will it cost? —

Your admission will include everything – your beer, your wings, your guacamole, your entry for fabulous prizes … you get the point. Advance tickets will only available via paypal ($41.50 to cover paypal charges) . You can always still pay $50 by cash or check at the door but help us out by shooting an email to superbowl@brooklynlandsharks.org to let us know you’ll be coming.

— Can I still bring food? —

The Super Bowl has always been about more than eating. It’s been about competitive cooking… as well as competitive eating. The Landsharks will be preparing the food and, because you’re being so generous with your donations, you don’t have to bring anything. That said, I would never tell anyone not to cook something for the Super Bowl, so if you want to bring something just let us know and we’ll coordinate. (Two years ago Isaac brought a bacon explosion that I think I’m still recovering from.)
